About the role

We are looking for STEMEX Tutors to work with children in Norwich. You will run hands-on science, technology, engineering and maths sessions, some with a whole group and some one to one with a child who needs more support.

What you would be doing

• Running STEM sessions for children, following our plans
• Supporting children one to one and two to one where that is what they need
• Setting up and clearing away your own equipment
• Keeping every session safe, calm and welcoming
• Telling us how each child got on, so parents and schools hear from us

What we are looking for

• You genuinely enjoy being around children and they warm to you
• Some experience with children, whether that is teaching, tutoring, coaching, scouts, youth work or your own family
• An interest in science and making things, you do not need a degree in it
• Reliable, on time, and happy to think on your feet when a session does not go to plan

Hours

Part time. Sessions run after school, at weekends and during the school holidays, so tell us on the form when you are free.

Before you start

Everyone who works with our children needs an Enhanced DBS check, two references and a right to work check. We arrange the DBS, you do not pay for it. You will also be asked to complete a short self declaration, which is part of the application form.
